MEET DALIA
Proven Community Leader
Dalia currently serves as the Providence District Supervisor on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors where she serves as the Chair of the Health and Human Services Committee, the Chair of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, and on the State Executive Council for Children's Services. Additionally, she serves on the following boards and committees in Fairfax County and the region:
Housing (Vice-Chair), Audit (Vice-Chair), Diversion First Leadership Group, Successful Children and Youth Policy Team, Council to End Domestic Violence, Fairfax Food Council, Community Criminal Justice Board, Northern Virginia Regional Commission, and the Phase I Dulles Rail Transportation Improvement District Commission.
Prior to serving on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Dalia served as the Providence District representative on the Fairfax County School Board. She also worked as a world language teacher, as a medical interpreter, and as a microfinance and communications specialist. She previously served on the board of the Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce as Co-Chair of its Women's Leadership Council, and on the board of the Woodburn Village Condo Associacion.
Dalia was born in Argentina and moved to Fairfax County, Virginia with her family when she was six years old. She is a proud graduate of Fairfax County Public Schools (Mantua Elementary School, Frost Middle School, and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology). She graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and French, and earned her post-Baccalaureate pre-medical certificate from Johns Hopkins University.
